Aerial Firefighters Keep Fires at Bay Using Aluminum Cabinets

Fires in the western United States are legendary for their scale and viciousness. Six of the largest 10 forest fires in United States history happened across the western states. A single fire can take out entire towns and spread millions of acres. Despite the danger, firefighters fight back. It takes an arsenal of equipment to conquer the flames. One of those tools is helicopters. Recently, Aluminum Cabinet Company was tasked with decking out the support trailer for KIT Helicopter Operations.

KIT is based out of Idaho but serves Wyoming, Utah, Montana, and Colorado as well. According to their website, “We are helicopter firefighting experts, with numerous contracts across the country. We are ready to meet the demands of today’s fire conditions.”

To keep up with those demands, the KIT crew needed a support trailer. It had to be heavy duty, well organized, and strengthen the KIT brand. After seeing examples of Aluminum Cabinets’ work online and corresponding with our team, KIT hired ACC.

"I just wanted your whole team to know how thankful I am that you guys were able to get these out to us in the timeframe you were given."

The task? Create cabinets for carrying firefighting tools and equipment. They chose a white powder coat with silver face frames. With the wildfire season on the horizon, we went from sketch to delivery in six weeks.

Now, KIT is ready to restock its helicopter at a moment’s notice.

“I just wanted your whole team to know how thankful I am that you guys were able to get these out to us in the timeframe you were given,” emailed Alan Scott from KIT. “Finally got a chance to finish up the install and they look and fit great inside the contact trailer. We will have the nicest Blackhawk setup out on fires this year! It is greatly appreciated.”

“This project felt special,” said Aluminum Cabinet Co. owner Kelly O’Toole. “We always enjoy our projects but this one felt different. Knowing that our cabinets were helping people fight fires and save lives made it more meaningful.”
